LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy
In-person in Plantation & online throughout FL
What would it feel like to have a space where you don't have to explain or defend who you are?
Your identity is not something that needs to be fixed. Therapy should be a space where you feel respected, understood, and supported as your whole self.
For LGBTQ+ individuals, navigating relationships, family expectations, cultural influences, discrimination, or societal pressures can create additional emotional burdens.
At Your Grounded Path Therapy, I offer affirming, trauma-informed care that recognizes how identity, lived experiences, and larger systems shape emotional well-being. Together, we'll explore what matters to you without judgment, assumptions, or pressure to fit someone else's expectations.
You deserve to feel safe, seen, and supported as your authentic self.
Affirming therapy goes beyond acceptance. It's about recognizing the ways identity, relationships, culture, and lived experiences intersect with mental health.
Whether you're exploring your identity, navigating family or relationship challenges, processing painful experiences, or feeling exhausted from masking parts of yourself, therapy can offer space to reconnect with your needs and values.
Our work may include exploring internalized expectations, strengthening boundaries, processing trauma, developing emotional regulation skills, and building a more compassionate relationship with yourself.
You don't have to arrive with everything figured out. You can begin exactly where you are.

Common questions about LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy.
-
LGBTQ+ affirming therapy is an approach to mental health care that recognizes sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression as natural aspects of human diversity—not problems to be fixed or changed.
My approach goes beyond acceptance and creating a welcoming space. I believe our emotional well-being is shaped not only by our individual experiences, but also by our relationships, culture, communities, and the systems we navigate.
Through a culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and intersectional lens, we'll explore how family expectations, discrimination, societal pressures, and lived experiences may affect your mental health, while also recognizing your strengths, resilience, and capacity for growth.
Therapy is a collaborative space where your identity is respected, your autonomy is honored, and you can explore what healing and well-being mean to you.
-
Not at all. LGBTQ+ affirming therapy isn't limited to questions about sexuality or gender identity. You may be navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, relationship challenges, or major life transitions. Your identity doesn't have to be the focus of therapy unless you want it to be. The goal is to provide care that respects and understands all aspects of who you are.

Yes. Experiences of rejection, discrimination, masking, or feeling misunderstood can contribute to chronic stress, anxiety, shame, and disconnection. Together, we can explore how these experiences have affected you, strengthen boundaries, process difficult emotions, and develop strategies for navigating relationships while honoring your needs, identity, and personal safety.
